One of my few remaining vices is a penchant for diet colas of various sorts. The “names on bottles” promo is something that Coca Cola have occasionally done for more than 10 years now, but today was the first time I found one with my name, and actually spelled correctly!

I considered it an auspicious day.

I got caught in one of the worst rainstorms I can remember, tonight. I was so drenched that I took a shower to dry off!

I’ve used the same equipment at work for a dozen or more years. It works great, but I made just a little tweak to my super dialed in setup, the other day, and have consequently made my life so much easier.

I’m delighted and irritated in equal measure.

There’s something satisfying about putting the preparation into something and having it payoff. I know this will be old news to most, but it was what was in my mind in this moment, so that’s what I’m noting down…

A long and busy day, today, but a very productive one. I like to feel tired for a reason. I can get behind that.

Writing something here was the last job remaining on today’s list. Perhaps not my most inspired musings, but I’m glad to have strung at least a couple of sentences together.

It’s been a day of mixed emotions, as a family estate was settled. I’m happy that everything worked out as intended, grateful to those who took the reigns of filing everything, and wistful that this particular chapter of life is finally closed.

My intention was to post everyday for a spell. I’ve utterly failed at this so far. Getting this one done can hopefully start a streak. Gamifying things, in this way, is often the best way to steer myself towards a new habit…

I guess we’ll see…

Much of my daily life is spent being a musician. Musicians know a thing or two about the importance of practicing.

Whether starting, developing or maintaining a skill, getting the reps in is vital. Regular repetition builds habit.

I’m currently reengaging with my content creation. Writing is an important part of that process and it’s where I feel especially rusty, right now.

Hence this blog. I’m planning to post daily for a spell without any particular notion of what I’d like to say. I’ll figure that out as I go. It’ll be good practice.

Setting up a website, particularly a blog, used to be a somewhat complex and time consuming endeavour. Not so any more.

This site was started in a matter of moments, on my cell phone, partly to kill time during a flight to Tucson, AZ. Let me reiterate that. Literally done on my phone, inflight on an airplane!
